Below is just a sampling of the highlights:
- In January, Susan D. Page, professor of practice in international diplomacy at the Weiser Diplomacy Center will give the Donia Human Rights Center’s Martin Luther King Jr. lecture on U.S. race relations and foreign policy. We are proud to co-sponsor an event hosted by the Stamps School and Wallace House with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Eric Foner on Reconstruction: America After the Civil War.
- In February, former Michigan basketball coach John Beilein and associate dean Paula Lantz discuss leadership and team building; Betsey Stevenson and Lisa Cook discuss diversity and technical innovation; Earl Lewis gives a Public Policy and Institutional Discrimination Discussion Series talk on history and reparations; and the Center for Finance Law and Policy co-host a panel as part of U-M Africa week on FinTech and the African Context.
- In March, MacArthur Fellow and sociologist Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom joins us to speak about education inequality; Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL) will speak on health policy and the ACA; and Towsley Policymaker in Residence Broderick Johnson will discuss lobbying and mass incarceration. Our distinguished Writing Center will also host Rebecca Carroll, for a discussion on her new book, Surviving the White Gaze.
